Sabrina Kidd - Founder

I've spent over a decade working inside HR — and if I'm being honest, some of what I saw along the way kept me up at night.

I've worked across nonprofits, education, healthcare, technology, retail, construction, hospitality, and startups. Different industries, different sizes, different cultures. But certain patterns showed up everywhere: HR was treated as a reactive function rather than a strategic one. Employees are raising concerns and feeling dismissed. Organizations unknowingly carry compliance risk they didn't know existed. And leaders are making consequential people decisions without anyone in their corner who truly understands the human impact.

I started NorthStar HR Consulting because I believed — and still believe — that organizations deserve better HR. Not the kind that shows up after something goes wrong. The kind that builds the systems, relationships, and culture that prevent things from going wrong in the first place.

NorthStar is built on a simple idea: a People First approach to Human Resources. That means I don't come in with a one-size-fits-all solution. I come in curious. I ask questions. I learn about your organization — its history, pressure points, goals, and gaps. And then I help you build something that actually works for your people and your business, not just something that checks a box.

My work spans HR compliance across all 50 states, payroll support and processing, employee relations, fractional HR leadership, Rippling HRIS expert-level knowledge and implementation, and process efficiency design. I hold dual HR certifications — SHRM-CP and PHR (HRCI) — both earned in 2015 and maintained since. I'm also a Rippling Wavemaker — a selected customer partner with direct access to Rippling's product teams — which means my clients stay ahead of the curve on the platforms they depend on.
